$225 is essentially the call out fee. The things listed as inclusions in the service are not completed. So you get the gist of where this is going. They did a quick test and diagnosed as a leak.A few days later received a quote for $799 to repair said leak. Invoice says you can save 10% by paying with crypto, seriously.Booked in the repair. This was then pushed back due to a scheduling error on their end.Unfortunately when they did attend for the repair appointment, they quickly realised that they did not have the necessary equipment to repair the leak. Not sure what the initial $225 appointment was for in that case.After a lot of wasted time, the last guy attends for the second attempt repair appointment. To be fair, he was lovely.Took roughly 1.5 hours.The repair involved adding a sealant to the system to plug up the pinhole and regas.They charged us an extra $140 on the day.The technician did guarantee that the repair should hold out longer than the unit (which is only 4 years old) which seems quite lofty an estimate.Total cost for sealant and regas $1164 plus processing fees.I would recommend looking elsewhere due to the inflated cost and time-wasting. If you wade through all of the suspect 5 star reviews to find genuine reviews for this company you will see a similar story.

RCD electrical and air conditioning recently serviced our air conditioning units. They were reliable, honest and the service was reasonably good value. I would definitely use their services in the future

Getting an aircon install was always going to be a challenge in December, so I was happy that they could get the job done.It cost a lot more than I had hoped, even though I helped him out heaps and cleaned up all of the mess that was made.They installed the outdoor fan unit by just placing it onto the concrete pad, without any fixings or vibration pads.The installer turned up on time but smoked cigarettes and left the butts everywhere.I may not use this company again.

Maurice was great! He serviced our two split aircon systems, with one needing to be replaced. He was quick and efficient and the air con works perfectly. Highly recommend. We will use RCD again for any future air con issues we have.

Great job by the team on a tricky upstairs installation, very good electrician, tested the loads, found the best way to connect the unit and good problem solving on site to fit unit to an upstairs room with restricted access. On time, finished off well, site clean, well done. Will use again. Recommended.

Would like to say a big thank you to RCD Electrical, in particular Daniel (January 22) for the outstanding service in repairs to evap air-con. Daniel's communication and customer service was outstanding - he kept me up-to-date with what was going on and where he was at. He even went the extra mile when he noticed a chip in a roof tile and replaced it for me with a spare tile I had - I was really impressed and touched by this.

Big thank you to RCD, replaced my split system unit and removed the old unit. Can't say enough good things about them. They were honest and reasonably priced. After my horrible experience with another company, they came in and did a great job. Would definitely recommend them.

We called RCD due to having issues with A/C as it didn’t blow cold air and the airflow is poor in living room. After diagnostics which involved a screwdriver only, we were told that probably the issue is caused by a faulty capacitor and that new one will have to be quoted. When I asked technician what about the poor airflow, he then went in the roof space and said that one of pipes fell off and that he will secure it when he is next time (not sure why he couldn’t do it on the spot as it apparently required using a bit of tape). That bit of diagnostics costed us $315 (although tax invoice says “A/C repair” without any further details). The shock wave came after we received a quote to replace faulty capacitor for “only” $395 + extra $78 for ducting work (new capacitor ~$80 in store). Which would have totalled work to almost $800.We were very lucky that our neighbours were servicing A/C and I asked their technician to investigate the issue. He used proper tools to test capacitor firstly and then always having a few spares in a car replaced it on the spot (all took 20min) and we paid $225. He was surprised why this hasn’t been done straight away as it is a common part to have, considering that we advised the company of the issues we were experiencing.We feel this could have been resolved at the first point of call, and this experience has left us feeling frustrated and disappointed by the whole process. We would not trust this company with our AC needs in the future.Voitec & Jo
